The AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE Statewide Parade and Festival was established to celebrate African American History, highlighting the glorious heritage, history and contributions of African Americans. The Parade is cablecast live locally, starting at noon on cablevision channel 3. Radio station WBLS (107.5 FM) also broadcast live parade coverage. There are over 7,500 parade participants, 150,000 parade spectators, 1,000,000 cable viewers and 500,000+ festival attendees.
